What a glorious day out there. I need to find some time today to just go out and enjoy it. I sometimes get so wrapped up in the projects I'm working on that I don't take the time to go out and savour the beauty of what's happening around me. It's a beautiful world we live in and time in nature is never wasted time.
My family is planning a reunion this summer and I volunteered to do the Ancestry project. It's now May and I have to buckle down and get it done, The reunion is in August and I would like to have this done by mid-July. I also promised a complete Ancestry of the Mousseau family to the museum in Massey. Apparently, someone stole the old one.
I don't know my family very well. Mom always considered herself the black sheep of the family so we never got to really know any of our cousins. The last time I saw them was when my grandfather passed away in 1967. We've rented all the cabins at the Waterfalls Lodge here in Spanish. A beautiful spot. This will probably be the last time all the first cousins get together because we are now all getting up there in age. Mike and I are going to be supplying Karaoke for them. I'm excited to meet them all again.
I'm still working on items for the online store in the evenings. I finished four new scarves last week. I just love the pattern, very basic but thick and warm. Now it's time to move on to a new pattern. I've been working on a few patterns of my own creation also. I love knitting mitts on 2 needles but there really is nothing out there for fancy mitts so I'm making my own patterns that I can sell. It is time consuming but it might be worth it in the end.
Once the Ancestry is done I really need to get working on the online website. I want to open the site on the long weekend in September. There's still so much to do. Finish the site. Wash all the items. Photos of everything. Online descriptions. Packaging.
To top everything off we have to get ready to move again at the end of September. Maybe I can have the site available for September but not open until the first weekend in October, after the move.
Any way I look at it, it's going to be a busy summer.
